Jr Doctors announce 'hunger strike' from today, says demands not met
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Aadi Mahotsav, a mega national tribal festival, in Delhi on Thursday. The program will showcase the rich and diverse heritage of tribes from across the country in more than 200 stalls at the venue. According to an official statement, around 1000 tribal artisans will participate in the Mahotsav.
This year, it is being held from February 16 to 27 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi, the statement said. "In an effort to showcase the tribal culture on the national stage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Aadi Mahotsav, the mega National Tribal Festival, on 16th February at 10:30 AM at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi," a statement read.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) noted that Modi has been at the forefront of taking steps for the welfare of tribal people with due regard to their contribution to the country's growth and development. "Since 2023 is being celebrated as the International Year of Millets, along with usual attractions like handicrafts, handloom, pottery, jewellery etc., a special focus in the Mahotsav will be on showcasing Shree Anna grown by tribals," the statement added.
Celebrating the spirit of tribal culture, handicrafts, cuisine, trade and traditional arts, Aadi Mahotsav is an annual initiative of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation Limited (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
