Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
With the 2026 Assembly polls just few months away, Bengal BJP has already pressed the accelerator. The party has applied to the administration for permission to hold a massive public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Nabadwip on Sunday, 14 December – marking the first high-voltage campaign event of the season. Party leaders believe a weekend Modi meeting right after Parliament’s winter session ends will give them the perfect launchpad to fire up workers and send a strong message to the ruling Trinamool Congress.
Even though Parliament will be in session from 1 to 19 December, the BJP is cleverly planning visits on weekends thats why 14th December Sunday has been planned accordingly. As per reports, the Nabadwip meeting is almost finalised, and the party is excited because the historic temple town can draw huge crowds from nearby districts.
Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to land in Kolkata after 19 December for an extended organisational meeting where the new state committee will be formally expanded and election strategies finalised under his direct guidance.Inside the saffron camp, excitement is sky-high. Workers see back-to-back visits by Modi and Shah as a clear signal that Delhi is fully focused about Bengal this time. From booth-level planning to big-ticket rallies, the BJP wants to leave no stone unturned in its mission to battle with Mamata Banerjee’s long rule.
