PM Modi voices concern over VP Dhankhar's mimicry, recalls 20 years of insults

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar revealed on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing pain over the recent mimicry incident in Parliament, shared that he has endured insults for two decades.

Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee mimicked the Rajya Sabha chairman, leading to widespread condemnation. In a statement, Dhankhar conveyed the Prime Minister's sentiments, emphasizing the unfortunate nature of such incidents occurring in the sacred Parliament complex.

President Droupadi Murmu expressed dismay over the humiliation, calling on MPs to uphold parliamentary norms of dignity. Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met with Dhankhar, condemning the act as "demeaning" and expressing deep concerns about the incident.
