Angry mob vandalises TMC leader's house, sets fire over corruption allegations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tarakeswar in Hooghly on Saturday to participate in the West Bengal Day celebrations, where he was received by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The programme commenced with the singing of Vande Mataram at a venue packed with attendees, while extensive security arrangements were put in place across the area. The Prime Minister's helicopter landed in Tarakeswar shortly after 4 pm, following which he proceeded to the event venue for the official programme. Large crowds gathered at the venue as preparations for the celebration were completed under heightened security measures. Following the Tarakeswar programme, the Prime Minister is scheduled to travel to Kolkata, where he will stay at Lok Bhavan for the night before attending the International Day of Yoga event at Red Road on Sunday.
