NCP leader Baba Siddique shot multiple times and dies in Mumbai Hospital
Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed G20 leaders at the summit venue, Bharat Mandapam, with a unique backdrop featuring a replica of the Konark Wheel from Odisha's Sun Temple. The backdrop displayed the Konark Wheel with the G20 logo on one side and the theme of India's G20 presidency, 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' - One Earth. One Family. One Future' - on the other.
The welcoming ceremony was accompanied by the melodious strains of shehnai, and flags of G20 member countries, invited nations, and various international organizations fluttered in the morning breeze.
The Konark Wheel, dating back to the 13th century during the reign of King Narasimhadeva-I, is a symbol of India's ancient wisdom, advanced civilization, and architectural excellence. It is known for its distinctive 24 spokes, which have also been adapted into the Tricolour.
Several prominent world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Brazil President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, were among those welcomed by PM Modi at the G20 Summit. As they walked the red carpet at the Bharat Mandapam, artists played traditional Indian tunes like 'Vaishnav Jan To,' 'Padharo Mharo Des,' and 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' on the shehnai.
