In a timely rescue operation, a 68-year-old woman named Monica Dasgupta was saved with the collaborative efforts of her maid and the police after she found herself trapped alone in her home at house number 68 of BL Block in Salt Lake. Concerns arose when the maid arrived at the residence in the morning and received no response upon ringing the doorbell. Promptly, the matter was reported to the Vidhannagar East police station. Upon arrival, police officers scaled the balcony of the house to raise an alarm and initiate contact with the elderly woman. Subsequently, they broke through the kitchen door to gain access to the home, where they found Dasgupta, who had sustained injuries after falling the previous night and was unable to walk.
Dasgupta, a widow with no children, had been living alone, making the assistance of her maid and the prompt action by the police crucial in ensuring her safety and well-being. The collaborative efforts highlight the importance of community and professional support in assisting vulnerable individuals, particularly in emergency situations.
