A police vehicle carrying two accused from Islampur court to Raiganj jail came under gunfire attack in the Panjipara area of Goalpokhar, Uttar Dinajpur, on Wednesday afternoon. The attack resulted in injuries to two police officers, Neelkanth Sarkar and Deven Vaishya, who were on duty at the time. The shooting occurred while the vehicle was traveling through Panjipara, with eyewitnesses confirming that multiple gunshots were fired at the van. The officers were immediately rushed to Islampur Hospital for treatment, though their current medical condition has not been disclosed.
