No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
The Kolkata Police have achieved a breakthrough in the high-profile Park Street hotel murder case, arresting two suspects from Odisha in connection with the gruesome discovery of a young man’s body. Rahul Lal, the deceased, was found stuffed inside the box-storage section of a bed in Room 302 last Friday.
The case began after Rahul Lal's body was recovered, bearing signs of strangulation by a bedsheet. Initial investigation, relying heavily on the victim's Aadhar card and mobile phone records, immediately pointed investigators toward an organized crime network operating out of Sambalpur, Odisha. Wasting no time, a specialized team from the Kolkata Police was dispatched to Odisha to follow the leads.
The dedicated police efforts culminated in the arrest of two individuals, identified as Shashikant Behera and Santosh Behera, both residents of Sambalpur. The investigation team is now interrogating the duo to uncover the precise details of the murder and determine the role of any other accomplices in the wider theft ring.
