Police arrest 6 members of a Hindu outfit for distributing swords in Ghaziabad

The Ghaziabad Police have taken decisive action against members of the Hindu Raksha Dal for distributing over two dozen swords in the Shalimar Garden residential colony. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Trans Hindon) Nimish Patil confirmed that six activists have been arrested so far. The group reportedly took out a procession in the area, moving door-to-door while raising provocative slogans. The police intervened following reports of these activities, which posed a significant threat to the communal harmony of the locality.

A total of 17 office bearers, including the group’s president Bhupendra Chowdhry, also known as 'Pinki', have been named in the First Information Report (FIR). While six members are in custody, Bhupendra Chowdhry remains at large and is currently on the run. The police have invoked several stringent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including those related to rioting and being armed with deadly weapons likely to cause death. More than two dozen unidentified members have also been booked in the case.

According to police reports, the group targeted the colony by distributing weapons under the guise of self-protection, claiming that such measures were necessary to face certain communities. The DCP stated that no organization will be permitted to take the law into its own hands or disturb the law and order of the state. Special police teams are currently conducting raids at various hideouts to nab the absconding president and the remaining named accused.
