PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Two main accused in the murder of a real estate businessman in West Bengal’s Howrah district have been arrested from Delhi, police said on Thursday. The accused, identified as Harun and Rohit, were allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Shafique Khan in the Pilkhana area in the early hours of 25th February.
Khan was shot dead in the early hours of Wednesday near a tea stall on Second Bye Lane in Pilkhana. The attack, which took place around 4:10 a.m., was captured on nearby CCTV cameras that allegedly showed the assailants opening fire at close range before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained bullet injuries to the head and chest and was rushed to a district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Preliminary investigation suggests the killing may have been linked to a long-standing personal rivalry. Family members of the deceased, however, have alleged that Khan had been receiving threats and that the accused had demanded a large sum of money from him before the incident. Police are continuing the investigation while examining CCTV footage and other evidence related to the case.
