Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of Rajjak Khan, Trinamool Congress (TMC) anchal president in Bhangar, South 24 Parganas. The arrests were made in Bijoyganj Bazar Police Station case no. 64 dated July 11, 2025, registered under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), read with Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
The arrested persons are Azharuddin Molla (25), son of Late Jahangir Molla from Panapukur village; Jahan Ali Khan alias Kangal (50), son of Late Din Mohammad Khan from Chakmoricha village; and Raju Molla (26), son of Abdul Molla, also from Panapukur village. All three are residents under the jurisdiction of Bijoyganj Bazar Police Station in South 24 Parganas district.
According to officials, the arrests were made based on evidence pointing to their direct complicity in the case. The investigation is ongoing under the provisions of the BNS and Arms Act, and further legal procedures are in progress. Details regarding the recovery of weapons or motive have not been officially released.
