The woman, who looked like a housewife, wearing a simple sari and sindoor on her head, is linked to the robbery at a gold shop in Domjur, Howrah. The police have arrested 'Chachi' from Bihar. 'Chachi' alias 'Asha Devi' was brought to Bengal from Bihar on Thursday. After a physical examination at Howrah District Hospital, she was taken to court.
The investigators want to question 'Chachi' by taking her into custody. On June 11, 6 miscreants broke into a gold jewelry shop in Domjur and tied the hands and feet of the shop owner and employees with cello tape. The robbery operation continued for about half an hour by hitting them on the head with the butt of the gun. They looted all the gold jewelry in the shop. The entire video of this incident, which happened at around noon, was captured in CCTV footage.
Howrah City Police detectives started the investigation. On investigation, they realized that a person from another state was involved in this incident. Some teams of detectives went abroad and after that investigation, finally, the police arrested 5 people from Bihar on charges of involvement in this incident. The arrested people include Chachi alias Asha Devi (49), Ravindra Sahni (46), Vikas Kumar Jha (30), Alok Kumar Pathak (33) and Manish Kumar Mahato (24).
During the investigation, the investigators got explosive information. The arrested 'Chachi' is a resident of Samastipur in Bihar. Earlier 'Chachi' was in the gang of notorious criminal Subodh Singh. Sitting in a rented house in Hirapur, Asansol, she planned to rob a gold shop in Domjur. After that, she came directly to Ankurhati in Howrah by train from Asansol.
'Chachi' was on rent in Ankurhati for the entire month of last May. The entire area was surveyed. After this 'Chachi' tried to rob. She used to make all the arrangements of which route the robbers would come from, which route they would return after looting, where they would stay, and where they would sell the looted goods.
'Chachi' is also used to arrange bikes and cars in case of robbery. According to the police, 'Chachi' used to provide help to the robbers in exchange for a huge amount of money. On Thursday, she was brought from Bihar to Howrah on transit remand. Investigators hope that by taking her into custody and interrogating her, more information will be revealed about this robbery.
