Police arrests supari killer in Rajjak Khan murder case, weapons recovered

In a major breakthrough in the murder case of Trinamool Congress (TMC) area president Rajjak Khan in Bhangar, police have arrested a notorious hired killer, also known as a 'supari killer'. The accused has been identified as Jakiruddin Gazi, also known as Jakir Molla. According to police sources, the accused confessed during interrogation that he shot and then hacked the TMC leader to death with a sharp weapon, shedding light on the brutal nature of the crime and the professional angle to the murder.

The murder of Rajjak Khan, a TMC leader close to Shaukat Molla, took place last Thursday near his home, sending shockwaves through the political community. Following the incident, a dedicated team of investigators from the North Kashipur police station, along with sharp officers from the Kolkata Police Detective Department, Anti-Goon Branch, and Special Branch, launched a comprehensive investigation to nab the culprits.

The investigation was under the direct supervision of Lalbazar's Detective Chief Rupesh Kumar and Bhangar Division's DC Saikat Ghosh. The police's relentless search and information gathering led to the arrest of several individuals, whose interrogation eventually revealed Jakir's name as the main perpetrator. However, Jakir remained elusive, evading police raids in multiple locations.

Jakir was finally traced using his mobile tower location and by interrogating his relatives. He was ultimately arrested from a fishing pond in the Nangla Palpur area under the Chandaneshwar police station in Bhangar. Jakir, a known criminal, had previously served two separate seven-year jail terms for two different dacoity incidents, totaling 14 years behind bars, highlighting his long and violent criminal history.

Police have recovered a pipe gun and a sharp chopper from the notorious criminal. They are now investigating whether these weapons were used in the murder of the TMC leader. The investigators claim that during interrogation, Jakir has confessed to the killing, confirming the police's suspicions. Preliminary findings suggest that the accused was hired for a fee to commit the murder, revealing a pre-meditated plot.
