Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
On Wednesday, police and locals intercepted a massive cache of explosives in the Kandasir area of Bautia Panchayat under the Nalhati Police Station in Birbhum. The recovery, occurring just as political parties have begun their high-decibel campaigns, has sent shockwaves through the administrative and political circles of the state.
The seizure took place when locals grew suspicious of a tractor moving through the area under unusual circumstances. Upon stopping the vehicle and conducting a search, they discovered paper boxes neatly packed with high-grade explosives. The Nalhati Police were immediately alerted and arrived at the scene to find approximately 10,000 gelatin sticks and 360 detonators. The sheer volume of the recovery has raised serious concerns about potential sabotage or large-scale violence planned during the upcoming polling phases.
While the police have seized the tractor and the explosive materials, the driver managed to flee the spot before he could be apprehended. Investigating officers are now working to trace the origin of the consignment and its intended destination. Questions are being raised about whether these explosives were being smuggled for illegal mining or if they were part of a more sinister political conspiracy to disrupt the democratic process in the sensitive Birbhum belt.
