To maintain law and order following the final phase of polling, the Election Commission has decided to keep 400 companies of central forces in West Bengal until June 6. An official informed the media that after the June 1 polling, half of the central forces will leave the state, but battalions of the BSF, CRPF, and SSB will remain to ensure stability.
Today, West Bengal is voting for 9 out of its 42 Lok Sabha seats. As of 1 PM, the voter turnout stands at 45.07%, contributing to an overall turnout of 40% across the state.
