Following the recent violence in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, the Uttar Pradesh Police has elevated its alertness, especially in anticipation of Friday prayers. With Jumma namaz approaching, vigilance has been intensified in various districts, including Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Agra, and Kanpur. In response to the Haldwani incident, where four miscreants lost their lives and over 100 policemen were injured, the UP Police is taking precautionary measures such as deploying personnel outside mosques, engaging with religious leaders, and employing technology like drones and CCTV surveillance.
To prevent the escalation of tensions, the UP Police is maintaining communication and coordination with religious leaders, monitoring sensitive areas through drones and CCTV cameras, and ensuring the use of body-worn cameras by deployed personnel. The directive from the government emphasizes the importance of quick response and effective monitoring, with headquarters overseeing the situation in all districts.
