Posters calling Sudip Bandyopadhyay 'thief and betrayer' surface in North Kolkata; Tapas and Kunal's name linked

Posters featuring Kolkata North MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay surfaced across parts of North Kolkata and near his residence following his recent meeting with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at Nabanna. Public dissatisfaction had previously mounted over Bandyopadhyay’s decision to sever long-standing ties with his former party leadership to join the NCPI in Delhi. The posters display his photograph alongside explicit slogans reading "betrayer" and "thief" "Nayna Didi's husband".

Political intrigue deepened as the bottom of the posters explicitly attributed the campaign with the text "Campaign by: Tapas Roy, Kunal Ghosh. Historical friction between Bandyopadhyay and both leaders from their shared political past led to widespread speculation regarding the source of the campaign. However, both State Minister Tapas Roy and MLA Kunal Ghosh publicly distanced themselves from the poster campaign, denying any direct involvement or authorization in placing them.

Despite denying any role in publishing or pasting the posters, Tapas Roy stated that he agreed with the sentiment expressed on them, noting that local residents and party workers remain dissatisfied with Bandyopadhyay's performance and availability. Meanwhile, Kunal Ghosh completely disassociated himself from the posters, and MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay has maintained silence as political speculation continues across the city.
