Preparations completed for Rajasthan election vote counting, CEO ensures security measures

Rajasthan's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Praveen Gupta, confirmed the readiness for the upcoming vote counting following the assembly elections held on November 25. The counting process is set to commence at 8 am on Sunday, covering 36 centres across the state.

All preparations, including stringent security measures, have been completed to ensure a smooth and transparent counting process. Gupta emphasized that the counting of ballot papers will precede the tabulation of votes registered in electronic voting machines (EVMs).

Gupta further highlighted that one counting centre is designated for 30 election districts, while Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Nagaur will have two centres each. The polling, conducted in 199 out of 200 assembly constituencies, involved 1,862 candidates.

However, the election in Karanpur was postponed due to the unfortunate demise of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar. Security norms for counting centres have been communicated to district election officers, police commissioners, and superintendents of police to ensure a secure environment during the process.
