A 61-year-old Supreme Court lawyer lost her life in an alleged murder case involving a property dispute in Noida. Renu Sinha, the victim, was reportedly killed by her husband, Ajay Nath, a 62-year-old former Indian Revenue Service officer.
The incident came to light when Sinha's brother became concerned about her unavailability, as she had not responded to repeated phone calls over a span of two days. Acting on this concern, her brother contacted the local police, prompting them to enter the bungalow forcibly. They discovered, Sinha's dead body in the bathroom.
Initially declared missing, Nath was later located by authorities during a search operation. He had allegedly concealed himself in a store room within the bungalow and sought refuge on the terrace, locking the premises. Subsequently, Nath was apprehended and taken into custody for further investigation.
Following interrogation, Nath reportedly confessed to the murder, revealing that it had been driven by a property dispute. He had planned to sell their bungalow for Rs 4 crore and had already received an advance payment for the property. However, Sinha vehemently opposed the sale. Tragically, Sinha had also been battling cancer, and just one month before her alleged murder, she had received a cancer-free diagnosis.
While initial investigations suggest that Sinha may have succumbed to excessive blood loss, the precise cause of her death will be determined following a postmortem examination. Authorities are diligently collecting evidence from the crime scene, and a comprehensive investigation is currently underway.
