Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday reaffirmed Russia’s “unwavering support” for Iran amid ongoing tensions in the region and congratulated Mojtaba Khamenei on his appointment as the country’s new leader.
In a message of support to Tehran, Putin said Russia would continue to stand by Iran and expressed solidarity with the Iranian people. He said Moscow remained committed to maintaining strong ties with Tehran during the current period of conflict.
Congratulating Mojtaba Khamenei on assuming the leadership role, Putin expressed confidence that he would continue the work of his father, the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He said the new leader would guide the country with honour and unite the Iranian people during difficult times.
Putin also acknowledged the challenges Iran faces amid escalating tensions and said the position would require courage and dedication. He stressed that Russia supports efforts for an immediate cessation of hostilities and believes disputes in the region should be resolved through diplomatic means.
Earlier, Putin also conveyed condolences over the deaths of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, members of his family, Iranian political and military figures, and civilians. Mojtaba Khamenei, born in 1969 in Mashhad, is one of six children of the late Supreme Leader and has now assumed the leadership of the Islamic Republic.
