Quick Response Teams to be tracked via GPS in Bengal phase 4 elections

As voting commences on 8 seats in West Bengal for the fourth phase, including Birbhum, Bolpur, Baharampur, Ranaghat, Krishnanagar, Burdwan Durgapur, Asansol, and East Burdwan, the Election Commission introduces GPS tracking for Quick Response Teams (QRT) for the first time. A total of 596 companies will be deployed, with QRT squads strategically allocated across different districts to ensure prompt response.

The introduction of GPS tracking enables Chief Electoral Officer Aariz Aftab to monitor QRT movements in real-time, addressing concerns about delayed responses reported in the past.
