Rabri Devi faces summons over land-for-job scam, court date fixed for Feb 9

In a significant development, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has issued summons to former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, her daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav, along with others, in connection with the land-for-job scam case. The Economic Offences Wing (ED) had previously named Rabri Devi, Rawadi Devi, Misa Bharti, Hema Yadav, and Hradayanand Chaudhary as accused in the charge sheet, involving two companies. The court's decision came after taking cognizance of the 4751-page charge sheet filed by the ED. Special Judge Vishal Gogane ordered the accused persons to appear in court on February 9, 2024, and also issued a production warrant for businessman Amit Katyal, currently in judicial custody related to the case.

Meanwhile, amid the unfolding legal proceedings, JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar commented on the restlessness within the RJD leadership, linking it to the reinstatement of over two lakh fifteen thousand teachers under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. Kumar alleged that RJD members were unsuccessful in benefiting from this reinstatement and accused them of attempting to exchange land for jobs, a practice he claims did not materialize this time. Warning against false allegations, Kumar urged the RJD leadership to exercise control to avoid negative implications in politics. Additionally, a legislative meeting in Patna saw the authorization of Lalu Yadav to make all decisions for the RJD, as announced by Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha.
