India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20, chase down total in 11.5 overs
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's meeting with US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar during his three-day visit to the United States has sparked sharp criticism from BJP leaders back home. Omar, known for her critical views on India, was part of a US delegation that met Gandhi on Tuesday.
BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi criticised the meeting, stating, "Rahul Gandhi has become the first Leader of the Opposition to meet Ilhan Omar, who is infamous for her anti-India stance." Trivedi added that Gandhi’s actions were “not childish, but dangerous,” accusing him of aligning with anti-India elements.
In response, Congress leader Pawan Khera defended the meeting, clarifying that Omar was part of an official US delegation and dismissing the BJP's criticism.
“BJP leaders heard the name of Ilan Omar for the first time today. She’s a Congresswoman and came as part of the delegation,” Congress leader Pawan Khera told.
