The Eastern Railway has announced a massive disruption in train services today, December 30, 2025, due to an obstruction on the tracks between Lahabon and Simultala in the Jasidih–Jhajha section. This incident has severely impacted the main rail line connecting West Bengal and Bihar, forcing railway authorities to issue an emergency schedule. As a result, several high-profile trains, including the Vande Bharat and Jan Shatabdi Express, are either being diverted through alternate routes or cancelled entirely to manage the traffic congestion.
Commuters travelling on the Howrah, Sealdah, and Asansol routes are facing significant challenges as seven trains have been cancelled for journeys commencing today.
