Reconstruction of crime scene in Kasba as probe intensifies in Kolkata college student rape case
Railway parking contractor Neeraj Dubey was injured after he was attacked by a gang of criminals at the Tatanagar parking lot under the railway Thana area on Friday evening. Dubey, who sustained bullet injuries in his neck and right hand, was admitted to Tata General Hospital where his condition is out of danger.
According to the railway police, the miscreants fired six shots at Dubey by taking cover near a standing autorickshaw in the parking lot. Sensing the danger, Dubey tried to flee the spot, but about five assailants chased him and continued firing. But when Dubey's associates rushed to the spot to rescue him, the assailants managed to escape.
Later, a team of railway police reached the spot and tried to identify the assailants by taking CCTV footage. Shooting in a public place like a train station park was a terrible thing because dozens of people visit the parking lot 24 hours a day.
A Railway Police officer visited the Tata General Hospital on Friday to take the statement of a gunshot victim admitted there. Dubey, who is the brother of gangster Pankaj Dubey, is learned to have revealed the names of the three attackers — Vishal, Ashutosh, and Pagla Raja.
Railway police are trying to arrest those involved in the armed attack by conducting raids in the Jugsalai and Bagbera thana areas with the help of local police.
