Rain dampens India's World Cup warm-up

India's preparations for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 have been cancelled by unfortunate weather conditions, as both of their warm-up matches were washed out due to heavy rains. As a result, India is the only team in the tournament that has not had the opportunity to bat or bowl in the lead-up to the mega-event, which is set to commence on October 5 in Ahmedabad. The Indian squad, comprising 15 members, has traveled approximately 6,115 kilometers in just six days, without any game time ahead of the crucial tournament.

Despite the lack of match practice, the Indian team remains confident and well-prepared for the World Cup. They recently clinched the Asia Cup 2023 title in Sri Lanka and secured a bilateral series victory against Australia in a remarkable three-week span last month.

The team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, is focused on the challenge ahead and is expected to bring their A-game when they kick off their campaign against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8. Subsequently, India will face Afghanistan in Delhi on October 11, followed by a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
