As West Bengal gears up to celebrate Holi, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for several districts in the state, citing fluctuating weather conditions. Over the past few days, Bengal has experienced varying temperatures, ranging from cold to hot, accompanied by intermittent sunshine and sporadic rainfall. However, the absence of rain since Friday across Bengal, including Kolkata, may soon change as Holi approaches.
According to the Meteorological Department's forecast, most districts in West Bengal are unlikely to experience rain on Saturday, March 23. However, light rain is anticipated on March 24th and 25th in select districts, with East Burdwan, Hooghly, Nadia, and North 24 Parganas expected to witness rainfall on Sunday. On March 25th, Birbhum, Murshidabad, and Malda districts are likely to experience rain. Additionally, a high possibility of rain is predicted for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, and Jalpaiguri districts in the next two days, accompanied by light winds and potential thunderstorms.
