Among the nominees are veteran journalist Sagarika Ghose, Susmita Dev, Md Nadimul Haque, and Mamata Bala Thakur, chosen to represent the party's interests in the upper house of parliament.
This marks Sagarika Ghose's entry into politics, who is also the wife of senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai. Sagarika Ghose has been a prominent journalist, columnist, and vocal critic of the Modi government and its policies.
In an official statement on Sunday, the Trinamool Congress affirmed, "We are pleased to announce the candidature of @sagarikaghose, @SushmitaDevAITC, @MdNadimulHaque6, and Mamata Bala Thakur for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections." The party extended its best wishes to the nominees, expressing hope that they would uphold Trinamool's legacy of unwavering commitment and advocacy for the rights of all Indians.
