In a strategic shift, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has now emerged as a major face in the BJP's West Bengal campaign. Till recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were the top leaders driving the party’s political messaging in the state. However, Rajnath Singh’s name is now being featured more prominently in BJP’s outreach efforts.
According to party insiders, Rajnath Singh’s clean image, mass appeal, and measured oratory are being seen as an asset in Bengal’s politically sensitive atmosphere. His inclusion in major rallies and public events signals BJP’s attempt to broaden its leadership narrative in the state ahead of crucial polls. The party hopes his stature as Defence Minister will also help project a message of national security and stability.
