NCP leader Baba Siddique shot multiple times and dies in Mumbai Hospital
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as its candidate from the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, officially submitted his nomination papers for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The event, held on Monday, witnessed the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, signifying the BJP's unified support for Singh's candidacy in Lucknow.
Before completing the nomination process, Rajnath Singh led a spirited roadshow through the streets of Lucknow, accompanied by Adityanath and Dhami. Notably, amidst the procession, arrangements were made to ensure a smooth passage for an ambulance, underscoring the priority of public safety during political events.
Praising Rajnath Singh's leadership and development initiatives in Lucknow, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remarked, "I have seen the changing Lucknow... Lucknow has developed very fast and the work started during Atal Bihari's time, all of them have been taken forward under the leadership of Rajnath Singh." Dhami expressed confidence in Singh's victory, highlighting the broader momentum behind Prime Minister Modi's leadership. In previous elections, Singh secured significant victories, defeating opponents with substantial margins in both 2014 and 2019.
