Vandalism in Howrah over controversial painting during Durga Puja; 30 arrested
The Oscar-nominated song Naatu Naatu from Ram Charan's 2022 movie RRR was filmed in Ukraine and Ram Charan shared this experience in an interview with a US television network. The song was performed in front of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's residence, the president of Ukraine. The shooting happened months before Russia invaded Ukraine.
Ram Charan in the interview recalled, "It was filmed three months before the invasion and the start of the war in Ukraine. Despite never having it on my bucket list, Ukraine was one of the most beautiful places, people, and experiences I've ever had. This is all because of the song."
At the time of the interview, the actor said, "I did mention to my family that I wanted to take the opportunity to visit Ukraine once more as a tourist when I returned to India following the song. We also shot in the city's President's Palace, which is the turquoise tower you might have seen in one of the news reports where the President is shown standing outside."
They filmed the song for 15 days, and they rehearsed for around a week, according to Ram Charan. "There, we filmed for fifteen days and practiced for seven. It was one of the hardest tracks we've ever recorded "Ram Charan stated. With the challenging choreography and Jr. NTR and Ram Charan's exceptional coordination, this is hardly surprising.
In the category of Best Original Song, Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli's RRR has received an Oscar nomination. The song, which was written by MM Keeravani, took home the Golden Globe for Best Original Song this year.
