The construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya is progressing at a fast pace, with gold plating work being carried out on six major doors of the temple. According to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra General Secretary Champat Rai, each door will be layered with 18 kilograms of gold. Additionally, the throne of the Ram Darbar on the first floor and the temple’s main kalash (pinnacle urn) will also be gold-plated.

The installation of the first gold-plated door at the Ram Darbar has begun. The Ram Darbar, which is being constructed on the first floor, is expected to be completed soon. According to Rai, “Ram Darbar is expected to arrive in May.” The idols for the Ram Darbar have already arrived at the temple site. The entire construction is targeted for completion by October 2025.

As of April 29, the peak of the main temple structure has been completed and flagpoles have been installed. Work on all seven mandaps of the temple is in its final stages, with completion expected by the end of April. “All seven mandaps are expected to be completed within the next 10 days of April,” Rai said. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust also conducted a Kalash Puja ceremony in April.

The temple complex includes shrines of other deities as well. A Shiva temple is being constructed at the northeastern corner of the complex, and a Sun God (Surya Bhagwan) temple is located on the southwestern corner. Urns have been installed atop both these temples. The idol of Maharishi Agastya has also been installed in the Sapt Mandap, and the associated puja was performed with the recitation of 108 names and the Aditya Hridya Stotra.

The statue of Maharishi Agastya was donated by retired Border Security Force Director General KK Sharma, who attended the installation ceremony with his family. All the major idols, including those for upcoming sections like the Ram Darbar, are now present at the site. With major structural and decorative work underway, the project remains on course for its stated completion deadline of October 2025.
