No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
Ranchi Police have launched a major campaign to remove black films from the windows of vehicles. The drive, initiated on Tuesday under the direct orders of DIG-cum-SSP Chandan Sinha, saw traffic police personnel deployed across various parts of the city to enforce the directive.
The campaign's primary objective is to crack down on vehicles with illegally tinted windows. Police officials were seen stopping vehicles and, in many cases, physically removing the black film from the glass on the spot. In addition to the on-the-spot removal, fines were also imposed on the drivers and vehicle owners for the violation, ensuring immediate compliance.
According to police officials, this campaign is part of a more comprehensive action plan. The directive is to take stern measures against a range of traffic violations that not only defy regulations but also cause public nuisance. These violations include the use of illegal black films, pressure horns, and modified silencers that produce excessive noise.
Police authorities have made it clear that the campaign is not a one-time event and will continue indefinitely. This prolonged effort is crucial to ensure that the message is effectively communicated to the public and that a lasting change in driver behavior is achieved. The consistency of the campaign is expected to lead to a more disciplined and safer traffic environment in the city.
