The main road bridge that connects Rajendra Chowk and Radisson Blu Hotel Chowk will remain blocked for 33 hours. The blockade will begin at 9:00 PM on March 25 (today) and end at 6:00 AM on March 27 (the day after tomorrow).
The reason for the block is load testing. The test is part of the construction of the Mecon – Siromtoli overpass. During the blockade, the district administration asked bridge users to choose alternative routes for commuting.
All vehicles travelling from Sujata Chowk on the main road to Rajendra Chowk can reach their destination via Radisson Blu Hotel, Kadru Bridge and Devendra Manjhi Chowk. Vehicles coming out of Radisson Blu Chowk can pass under the bridge.
Vehicles travelling from Rajendra Chowk to Sujata Chowk can take Mecon Chowk, Devendra Manjhi Chowk, Kadra Overbridge and Hotel Radisson Blu.
The length of the proposed flyover is 2.34 km. Its construction is carried out by the Department of State Road Construction. L&T took over the responsibility for its construction. Rs 271 crore will be spent to build the flyover.
