Ranchi University is all set to hold staff union elections after nearly 40 years. According to Ranchi University staff, about 40 years ago, the elections of the said Ranchi University union were held by ballot. According to official sources, the Ranchi University union elections are scheduled to be held on March 13 and counting will also be conducted on the same day.
After the elections at that time, the officials of the Employees' Union were nominated here. The condition is more or less the same in the case of other universities in the state. It is noteworthy that about eight years ago, officials of the Employees Union were nominated in Kolhan University. Elections were not held after that. Three new universities have been created in Jharkhand. Of them, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Staff Union Election 2020. Binod Bihari Mahato Koyalanchal University Staff Union Election 2018.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur Women's University has yet to hold an election since its inception. According to sources, the election was held when Jamshedpur Women's University was still a college. The earlier committee is still working at the university. On the other hand, the staff union elections were last held at Vinoba Bhave University in 2017.
On the other hand, the employees of several universities in Jharkhand agreed that the elections of employee unions in universities or colleges should be held regularly. "This works in the interest of the employees. Due to the existence of the organization, the problem of any employee is heard prominently. It is necessary that the elections be held on the set date," said members of the RU Employees' Union when expressing their satisfaction with the decision to hold elections this month.
