After 10 years of wait the Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally managed to breach the Mumbai Indians castle beating the Hardik Pandya's men by 12 runs. Wankhede witnessed a run frenzy with a total of 430 runs scored with as many as 25 sixes and 39 fours. For RCB, Krunal Pandya outshined with the ball picking up 4/45 with three of them in the last over playing a key role in RCB's victory.
The match saw some powerful smashing from Virat Kohli 67(42), Rajat Patidar 64(32), and an unbeaten cameo from Jitesh Sharma scoring 40*(19). The MI innings started with a couple of wickets falling in the powerplay. Tilak Varma 56(29) and Hardik Pandya 42(15) played some outstanding shots and almost to MI over the line.
However, experienced Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar sent the MI duo back to the pavilion at the crucial moment. At the end came Krunal Pandya who claimed two wickets in the first two balls of the 20th over. He took another one in the same over and sealed the deal for RCB. Yash Dayal also clinched 2 crucial wickets.
With this victory, RCB climbed to the 3rd spot in the points table with a total of 6 points. MI on the other hand is sitting in 8th position with just one victory in 5 matches. RCB skipper Rajat Patidar named the 'Player of the Match' award. In the end, it was a complete package of entertainment for the fans.
