The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the state's famous teacher recruitment corruption case, has sought complete details of all the candidates who passed the Primary Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in 2014.
For this, the central agency has written a letter to the Primary Education Council of West Bengal. Sanjay Kumar Shyamal, Deputy Superintendent of CBI's Anti-Corruption Squad has sent this letter. In this, it has been said that those who have got jobs after passing the Tet exam in 2014, their serial number, name, birth certificate, father's name, present address, in which school they are working and their mobile details will have to be given.
Notice has been sent to the Chairman of the Board of Primary Education. It states that, based on an order issued by the Calcutta High Court on June 8, 2022, the CBI has sought this information for the purpose of probing recruitment corruption. Also, a copy of the circular issued in 2016, 2017 and 2018 regarding the appointment of those teachers should also be given to the CBI.
All the information about those teachers has to be collected and deposited on the 14th floor of CBI's Nizam Palace office in Kolkata. After this notice, a notification has been issued by the board mainly for the Presidents of the District Primary School Education Council.
On behalf of the board, Deputy Secretary Partha Karmakar has issued a circular and directed to inform the chairpersons of the primary education councils of all the districts. It has also been mentioned in the notification that the District Primary School Council should not delay in giving information about the teachers who have passed the TET exam of 2014. A part of the notification also mentions that this information should be sent on an urgent basis.
