According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, many districts of West Bengal have got relief from the heat due to rains with strong thunderstorms. Capital Kolkata along with Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and other parts of the state are cloudy on Saturday.
In a statement issued on Saturday morning by the Meteorological Department, it has been said that the maximum temperature in the capital Kolkata has dropped below 40 degrees to 38 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature is also at 26.5 degrees Celsius which was at 30 degrees.
Along with these districts, Malda, North and South Dinajpur, Paschim Medinipur, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling, winds are blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour throughout the day on Saturday and rain has started since morning which will continue throughout the day causing heat.
