Full state honors for Ratan Tata, one day mourning announced in Maharashtra
In response to the recent vandalism incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 14, the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) has decided to resume its strike. The decision comes after a violent mob entered the hospital premises, causing significant damage and raising concerns about the safety of medical professionals.
FORDA had previously called off their strike following a meeting with Union Health Minister JP Nadda on August 13, where assurances were given to address their concerns. However, the latest act of vandalism has reignited fears among doctors, prompting the association to resume their protest.
Moreover, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has also announced a stop work strike across the country in protest of the gruesome crime against the trainee doctor. As per reports, all OPDs, elective surgeries, and non-emergency services to remain shut.
The strike is expected to impact medical services across several hospitals, as resident doctors demand stricter measures to ensure their safety and justice for the incidents that have occurred. The association has urged the authorities to take immediate action to protect healthcare workers and prevent such incidents in the future.
