The construction of the Rishra Underpass aimed at alleviating traffic congestion at railway gate number three in Risra has been at a standstill for the past two months. Initiated about eighteen months ago in collaboration with the Railways and Risra Municipality, the project encountered an unexplained hiatus, reportedly attributed to the rainy season earlier this year. Despite the transition to the winter season, work on the underpass has not recommenced.
Local residents in Rishra are increasingly advocating for the prompt completion of the underpass construction, expressing their concerns over the prolonged delay. Earlier, legal disputes temporarily halted the project, but it resumed following court directives. However, the recent pause, allegedly due to weather conditions, has affected the project's progress and might escalate the project costs, according to experts.
