West Bengal Leader of the Opposition and expelled Trinamool Congress MLA Ritabrata Banerjee on Friday claimed that support for the rebel faction led by him would continue to increase. He expressed confidence that more legislators would join the camp and asserted that there was no possibility of the number of supporting MLAs declining.
Ritabrata said the strength of the rebel bloc within the West Bengal Assembly would grow further in the coming days. Referring to the support he has received from legislators, he stated that the number of MLAs backing the faction would keep increasing. However, he clarified that he had not been in contact with any Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament during the past week.
The expelled MLA also commented on the protest held outside the residence of fellow rebel leader Sandipan Saha. He alleged that BJP leader Priyanka Tibrewal was present during the demonstration and described the incident as unacceptable. He said a complaint had been filed with the police regarding the matter and appealed for action against those involved.
Ritabrata further questioned Priyanka Tibrewal’s presence at the protest, stating that Sandipan Saha’s residence did not fall within her constituency. He alleged that people had been brought from outside to participate in the demonstration and claimed that the incident was politically motivated. His remarks came amid continuing political developments involving the rebel faction and the Trinamool Congress leadership.
