Riteish Deshmukh announces directorial debut 'Raja Shivaji

Actor-director Riteish Deshmukh revealed his upcoming directorial venture, "Raja Shivaji," centered on the life of Maratha empire founder Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The bilingual Marathi-Hindi film aims to depict the rebellious journey of a young Shivaji against powerful forces, ultimately transforming into the revered Raja Shivaji. Riteish Deshmukh, who also assumes the titular role, expressed his dream to create a cinematic portrayal of Shivaji's life, emphasizing the historical figure's significance as more than just history but as an enduring symbol of valor and hope.

 On the occasion of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, Riteish Deshmukh unveiled the poster for "Raja Shivaji." The historical action drama, produced by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company, is a collaborative effort with Deshmukh's wife, Genelia, serving as a producer. Genelia conveyed that narrating Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's life story has been their profound dream, seeking to enrich cultural and historical narratives through "Raja Shivaji."
