Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed on Friday the decision to confer the prestigious Bharat Ratna award upon former Prime Ministers Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh, along with agronomist MS Swaminathan, recognizing their exceptional contributions to the nation. In response, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Choudhary took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), expressing his approval with the phrase "Deel Jeet Liya (Won the heart)".
The announcement follows recent Bharat Ratna honors bestowed upon former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur and BJP stalwart Lal Krishna Advani by the Centre. With these latest awards, the government has conferred a total of five Bharat Ratna titles within a span of just one month, showcasing recognition for individuals who have made significant impacts on Indian society and politics.
