A major theft has been reported from the Mumbai office of Bollywood music composer Pritam Chakraborty, where Rs 40 lakh went missing under suspicious circumstances. The incident came to light after Pritam’s manager, Vineet Chheda, discovered that the cash, which had been brought to the office for work-related purposes, was stolen.
According to the complaint lodged at Malad Police Station, Chheda had received the money a few days ago and kept it in the office. At the time, an employee named Ashish Sayal was present. Chheda then left for Pritam’s residence to get some documents signed, leaving the money in the office.
Upon returning, Chheda found that the bag containing the cash was gone. Other staff members informed him that Sayal had taken the bag, stating he was going to deliver it to Pritam’s house. However, when Chheda attempted to contact Sayal, his phone was switched off, raising suspicion.
Concerned about the missing funds, Chheda went to Sayal’s residence but found him missing. Unable to locate him, he immediately reported the incident to Malad Police Station. Following the complaint, police registered a case and began investigating the matter.
Authorities have launched a search operation to track down Sayal, who is now the prime suspect in the case. They are also reviewing CCTV footage and questioning other employees to gather more evidence regarding the theft.
While the investigation is ongoing, police have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. Further updates on the case are expected as law enforcement continues its probe into the high-profile robbery.
