Kolkata's Brigade Parade Ground witnessed a spectacle as a sea of saffron-clad participants gathered for a monumental Geeta recitation event on the auspicious occasion of Geeta Jayanti's second day. The assembly, comprising thousands of saints, resonated with the verses of the Geeta under the guidance of Shankaracharya Sadanand Saraswati of Dwarka Peeth.
The event commenced with a poetic rendition, "Hey Partha Sarathi Bajao Bajao" by Nazrul, setting the stage for a harmonious atmosphere. Approximately 70 thousand women in attendance blew conch shells, and an additional 60 thousand individuals joined in singing songs.
The significant turnout of 1 lakh 30 thousand people, clad in saffron attire and traditional dhoti and kurta, contributed to a remarkable display of unity and devotion. The Geeta recitation event, marked by cultural presentations from Sanskar Bharti, an organization associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), showcased a unique and unprecedented scene in Kolkata.
Participants marveled at the extraordinary sight of thousands seated together, collectively reciting the Geeta, creating an atmosphere of spiritual and cultural significance.
