Saif Ali taken in auto to hospital after stabbing as car was unavailable

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked early Thursday morning in his Bandra residence during an alleged burglary attempt. The incident occurred around 2:30 am at his 12th-floor apartment in the Satguru Sharan building. Reports indicate that Saif sustained six injuries, including two deep stab wounds, two intermediate wounds, and two minor ones. One of the deeper wounds was near his spine, requiring immediate surgical intervention by a neurosurgeon.

During the critical moments following the attack, Saif's 23-year-old son Ibrahim acted swiftly. As Saif was bleeding heavily, the family car was not available at the time, so Ibrahim helped his father into an auto-rickshaw and rushed him to Lilavati Hospital. The hospital, located approximately two kilometers from their residence, was the nearest medical facility. Saif’s condition was serious upon arrival, and he was immediately admitted for medical treatment.

At Lilavati Hospital, Saif was assessed by a team of doctors, who confirmed that his condition was stable, but he remained under close observation. He underwent surgery to remove a piece of the knife that had been lodged near his spine. Hospital staff confirmed that the surgery was successful, and Saif was moved to the ICU for ongoing monitoring. His medical team assured that Saif's vital signs were stable following the procedure.

The police investigation into the incident has revealed that the intruder entered the apartment through the fire escape. Preliminary findings suggest that the suspect was attempting to rob the residence when the altercation occurred. CCTV footage captured the suspect entering the building and moving inside the apartment. The attacker, believed to have used a fire exit to flee the scene, has not been apprehended. Police have deployed multiple teams to locate and arrest the individual. They are continuing to gather evidence and have expanded their investigation to nearby areas.

In light of the attack, security measures have been increased at Saif Ali Khan’s ancestral property, Pataudi Palace. Saif and his family had recently visited the palace, and authorities are taking precautions to ensure their safety. Additionally, security at the Bandra building where the incident occurred is being reviewed. The police noted that the building's security system was inadequate, which may have facilitated the intruder's entry. Investigators are continuing to examine security protocols to prevent similar incidents.
