Salman Khan reveals brain aneurysm, AV malformation and says ‘still carrying on despite it all’

Actor Salman Khan has revealed that he is currently suffering from multiple serious health conditions, including a brain aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation (AVM), and trigeminal neuralgia. The 59-year-old actor disclosed this during a public appearance where he discussed his ongoing health struggles while continuing to work in the film industry.

He said, “Hum ye jo daily ki haddiyan tudwa rahe hain, pasliyan toot gai, trigeminal neuralgia ke sath kaam kar rahe hain, aneurysm hai brain mein uske bawajood kaam kar rahe hain. AV malformation hai, uske bawajood chal rahe hain.” He added that despite these challenges, he is actively working on films that involve action and dance sequences.

Trigeminal neuralgia is a chronic nerve disorder that affects the trigeminal nerve, responsible for facial sensations. It causes sudden and severe facial pain, often described as an electric shock. Salman Khan had previously spoken about this condition in 2017, referring to the extreme pain associated with it. He underwent surgery for it in 2011 after experiencing symptoms since around 2007.

A brain aneurysm is a bulge in a blood vessel in the brain that can rupture and cause life-threatening bleeding. It is often asymptomatic until it ruptures, at which point it may lead to a hemorrhagic stroke. Salman mentioned that he continues to perform his duties despite having an aneurysm.

Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a rare condition involving an abnormal connection between arteries and veins, usually in the brain or spine. This disrupts normal blood circulation and can cause seizures, headaches, and bleeding. AVMs are typically congenital and may not show symptoms until complications arise.

Khan also shared that he recently suffered fractured ribs. He stated that, despite all these issues, he continues to shoot action sequences and perform physical tasks required by his profession. His most recent film appearance was in Sikandar, and he remains active in upcoming projects.
