Lakh Kanth will not be participating in the Geeta recitation event scheduled at Brigade Parade Ground on December 24 in Kolkata, reportedly due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's engagement in a government program on the same day.
The organizing committee, which had also extended an invitation to leader Yogi Adityanath, is yet to receive confirmation, causing a setback to the preparations for the event that had been underway for the past three months.
The absence of PM Modi and uncertainty around Yogi Adityanath's participation have led to a sense of disappointment among the Sanatanis, and it is considered a blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party's Bengal unit. A meeting was held at the Salt Lake party office between BJP President Sukant Majumdar and Assembly Opposition Leader Subhendu Adhikari to address the situation, though details of the decisions taken were not disclosed to the media.
