Saraswati Vaidya Murder: Manoj Sane remanded to police custody by Thane Court until june 22

A Thane court on Friday sent accused Manoj Sane to police custody till June 22. He was accused of brutally killing his 32-year-old partner, Saraswati Vaidya. The victim was in a live-in relationship with Sane (56), and the couple had been living in the apartment for the past three years.

The Scene of Crime

An official from the Nayanagar police station said that the brutal killing took place in Flat No. 704 on the 7th floor of Akashdeep Building, though the date of the gruesome murder is not known.The crime came to light this evening after some neighbors complained of a foul smell coming from the locked flat and informed the police.

A team from Nayanagar police station rushed to the spot and opened the house. They found the victim's body, cut into several pieces and some pieces missing or allegedly disposed of. The police have formed a special team to investigate the murder, motives, track the live-in partner.

A case similar to Shraddh Walkar's murder

This is the second gruesome murder of a woman reported from the region this week, apart from the killing of Shraddh Walkar, who hails from neighboring Palghar district, in Delhi in November 2022.

Earlier this month, the woman's body was cut into two pieces and dumped near Uttan Beach in the adjoining town of Bhayander. The police caught the perpetrator quickly within 48 hours.
