The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has appointed veteran Member of Parliament Saugata Roy as the Deputy Leader of its parliamentary party in the Lok Sabha. The decision was officially announced on Friday. The decision comes amid internal rift within the party.
The party formally shared the news through an official social media statement, confirming that the decision was taken under the guidance and inspiration of the party supremo Mamata Banerjee. Highlighting his long-standing service, the TMC acknowledged Roy as one of the most senior parliamentarians in the country, praising his extensive legislative experience and wealth of knowledge.
The leadership expressed confidence in his parliamentary abilities and extended its best wishes for his new responsibility.
